Policies

Here is my list of policies to ensure that you have the information you need to make an informed decision about working with me.

Appointments and Sessions

  • Virtual Services

I am currently offering all appointments through a HIPAA-approved virtual service. I am not available for in-person meetings.

Service Areas

  • Psychiatry

Currently Licensed in Maryland and Arizona; patients in Maricopa County will be seen through Choulet Wellness

  • Coaching

I am certified to operate as a coach worldwide with no exclusions.

Payment

My office operates on a fee-for-service basis. Payment in full is due prior to the time of service. I accept the following forms of payment: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Direct Bank Wire Transfer.

Insurance

As an out-of-network provider, you may be entitled to reimbursement for my services through your health insurance plan. Please check the terms of your out-of-network mental health coverage with your benefits administrator in advance of your initial consultation. I do not accept Medicare or Medicaid.

I do not file claims at the office and I cannot guarantee reimbursement from your insurance company. You will be responsible for contacting and working this out with your insurance company. However, the process is generally straightforward. I will provide you with an invoice for the services (referred to as a “superbill”) that can be submitted to your insurance company. Most of our patients receive some reimbursement for my services.

Cancellations/No-Shows

I require two business days’ notice to cancel or reschedule appointments. For example, if you have an appointment on Wednesday morning, you will need to call to cancel by it by Monday morning to avoid charges. If you have an appointment on Monday morning, you will need to call to cancel by the previous Thursday morning to avoid charges. You will be responsible for the full amount of the session if you fail to keep an appointment or have a late cancellation, as I would be unable to use that time for other patients who may need it. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions about these policies.

Please note

  • I only offer virtual services through a HIPAA compliant videoconferencing platform, email and phone only.

  • I cannot offer any services in person.

  • I can only see psychiatry patients from the states of Maryland and Arizona where I am currently licensed in the United States.

  • I will not be seeing any psychiatry or psychotherapy patients from Canada through this practice.

  • I am able to offer executive and life coaching services to clients from all over the world.

Important for psychiatry patients

I am unable to offer treatment services for patients who have a Psychotic Disorder or who are currently at high risk for suicide, safety issues or have a history of numerous inpatient hospitalizations. This is because I am a solo practice psychiatrist offering services via videoconferencing and will not have the capability to provide the right care for these conditions given that these will require team-based in-person care.
